Outpatient appointment
This page sets out some important information on fees & charges which we are obliged to provide to every patient who books to see Mr Horwitz in clinic. If you do not have private medical insurance but someone else will be paying your bill, you should pass this information to them. Please note that even if someone else is paying your bill or you have private medical insurance, you are responsible for paying any charges which they do not pay.
Consultation Fee
Initial consultation fee £250-£300 Follow up consultation fee £150-£200
(These fees are correct as at the date of publication). Fees for procedures performed during an outpatient consultation will be made clear to you at the time of the consultation.
Should you cancel your appointment with less than 48 hours notice, a cancellation fee of up to 50% of the appointment charge OR an amount of £100 (initial consultation) and £75 (follow-up consultation) will be charged. Your insurance company do not cover cancellation fees and you will be invoiced personally for late cancellation/ DNA fees.
Following your consultation you may need certain tests (such as imaging e.g. X-ray, MRI or CT scan or blood tests) to help diagnose your condition. When the test is undertaken by a hospital/clinic, and not by Mr Horwitz, the fees for those tests will be determined by the hospital and charged to you, or your private medical insurer, separately. If there are any fees which Mr Horwitz will charge in addition to the what the hospital/clinic charge in relation to any of the tests you have, Mr Horwitz will let you know what those will be.
Private Medical Insurance
If you have private medical insurance, please contact your insurer before your consultation, to check the terms of your policy, particularly the level and type of outpatient cover you have and your eligibility for further tests, including any reimbursement limits on individual consultation fees. You may need to call the insurer after your consultation if you need further tests or hand therapy.
Mr Horwitz is recognised by the private medical insurers listed below, however, please do check with my office if your insurer is not listed below as its likely that you will need to pay upfront and then claim back the fees from your insurer directly. Please note you are responsible for any fees not covered by your insurer.
**If you do not bring your insurance details with to the consult you will be billed as a cash paying patient on the day.**
