Mr Horwitz undertakes personal injury medico legal examinations and reports on hand and wrist injuries. He is currently not taking on clinical negligence cases.

Mr Horwitz receives instructions from solicitors and insurance companies and acts for both Claimant and Defendant. Drawing on his broad clinical knowledge and in depth expertise in traumatic injury he is well placed to provide expert witness reports.

Mr Horwitz is a 1st tier APIL recommended expert.

Medico Legal examinations take place 14.00 on Tuesday or Wednesday afternoons in central London location. Provided ALL records and passwords are available for the date of the consultation, report turnaround time is 10 working days.

If the records are delayed there will be an additional fee added to the report OR the report will be issued and an addendum will be issued once the records have been received. Imaging (x-rays or MRI) is often central to Mr Horwitz’s review of the patient and if the actual imaging has not been received/ cannot be opened Mr Horwitz will arrange updated x-ray on the day (fee £200-295 per hand) and the fee will be added to the report invoice. (x-ray/ MRI reports are not sufficient, Mr Horwitz needs to review the images).

We prefer records to be made available via a secure server where they can be downloaded and saved securely on our systems. Alternatively, please post hard copy records (if you have them) and the CD to our office address; address supplied on request.

If there is a password for any records please make sure this is provided.

Please note despite Covid introducing the option of virtual appointments into some medical practices, Mr Horwitz sees patients face-to-face in secure conditions. Mr Horwitz finds that video consultations compromise the examination and information gathering experience that is required to gain sufficient information to provide a full and final report. It has been his experience since the Covid pandemic that when based on video examination, Mr Horwitz is restricted to providing a provisional report pending a face to face examination. He would therefore like to make any instructing party aware that a face to face appointment is preferred before any instruction is received.
